Are museums and art galleries closed on 25th April ?

We will be in Siena on 25th April and we were hoping to explore the area around Siena visiting Museums, art galleries, monasteries and churches in various towns.

I am aware that the 25th April is a public holiday and would be most grateful for any information about how this will affect us.

Thank you

Odette

The 25th of April is actually the last day of Italian Culture Week, so not only are state museums and many cultural institutions across Italy open but they are free, and there will probably be many other additional things going on at the same time.

You can read about it a bit more in this post (which is mostly about Florence's culture week, but the same thing will be happening in Siena too): tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187895-i68-k34753…

Thank you so much for the information.

We are really looking forward to taking advantage of all the free museums art galleries and concerts while we are in Florence, Siena and Lucca.
