best time of year to visit

we are getting ready to plan a trip to Tuscany to stay at a villa (won at an auction) I have no idea of weather and am looking for advice on when to go. We're pretty open to any time of year.

Thanks.

We like the times of mid-May until maybe the first week of June. We've been to Italy twice in that time frame. Our last 3 trips have been from mid-September to early October. Both seasons have something to offer but we loved them both. The weather was always 70-84 degrees during the day and maybe 56-65 degrees in the evening. The humidity was low and we've had very little rain during our trips.

Maybe mid-May through to mid-end June? July/August can be blisteringly hot and many would find sightseeing uncomfortable. September too is a lovely month though you could experience the occasional late-summer showers.

Agree with others that spring time May/June or mid September is in my experience a good time for visiting Tuscany.

Its best to avoid the crowds at the peak holiday time during July/August - as well as the heat.
