Best beach holiday in Italy

Mid 30s looking to book a 2 week break in Italy next Summer.

Love to swim and read on the beach and just looking for a quaint town for restaurants in the evening.

Loved San Vito lo Capo in Sicily and the larger Alghera in Sardinia for beaches and swimming.

Any ideas? and actually doesnt even have to be Italy.

Beach and lack of clubs and pubs is ideal.

So avoid Rimini and Forte dei Marmi

You could look at Puglia.

Somewhere like Otranto.

Your biggest problem may be getting flights to Lecce or Brindisi for this part of Italy.

Well, as you are posting on the Tuscany Forum I obviously suggest Elba IslandI

Lovely sea, lots of different beaches to' choose from, nice small villages....

However I think your question can have heaps of answers as there are so many nice places in Itay. You must narrow down your area , maybe looking where you can get to with your flights.

Bye :)

Yes, I was going to suggest Elba too. Do be very careful where you choose as I'm sure you know, many Italian beaches are private and so can be expensive, attached to bars and hotels and often fenced, so if you are not expecting this it can be a bit of a shock!

If you mean summer summer, you'll find that almost everywhere is heaving with Italians!

But if that doesn't put you off....

I would suggest flying to Italy and travelling about 2 hours south to a small town called Catiglione della Pescaia. It is truly beautiful. Wonderful accommodation at the Riva del Sole, which is situated on a Blue Flag Beach.

Easy travel distance to Sienna, Florence and Rome.

We hired a car a Pisa Airport and the journey was very straight forward.
