Beach holiday, restaurants and nice hotel- where to go?

We're two couples in our early 30-ies who are going to Tuscany in July. One week we want to spend at the beach. We also want to live in a nice hotel (preferably with private beach) and we would like it to be close to somewhere where there are restaurants so we don't have to drive anywhere. Anyone have any tips on where to go? Hear Livorno is a bit run down..

Would appreciate some help!!

Maremma especially Talamone or Porto Santo Stefano. The first one is particularly suggested for wind surfers

We far preferred Porto Ercole to San Stefano in Agrigento if you're headed to Maremma.

We far preferred Porto Ercole to San Stefano in ARGENTARIO if you're headed to Maremma. (Sorry-typo last post)
