Photography holiday in Tuscany

I am a keen amateur photographer. I've toured in Tuscany twice previously, but toting my light-weight point-and-shoot camera. I'd would love to go back again with my good camera and lenses and spend several days in the region taking photos. I have seen on-line a few specialist tours, run by British or American companies, which have great itineraries, great expertise and tuition, but their prices are a fair way beyond my budget (roughly $US3,500-4,000 for 5-6 days). I would like to know if there are any English-speaking photography holiday operators based in Italy who are offering some sort of photography experience in the Italian countryside and the sort of expert tuition which would help me to learn to capture amazing images, but without breaking the bank?

Patrick Nicholas down in Orvieto is a super guy and up here a lot with his workshop groups: http://www.cameraetrusca.com But, to be honest, unless you want to pick up more tips or study particular aspects of photography, it's easy enough to find your way around for most of the well known "iconic" Tuscan scene images are all within a 30 mins drive of each other. We discussed this several times last summer and I prepared some detailed posts with directions to many sights, which I'll try and find and post links below. Base yourselves in Pienza where there's a terrific range of hotel accommodation options in all price brackets plus lots of places to eat, hire a car, buy a good map and then go. Easy. Link to follow.

Here's what you're looking for! Sergio Ceccherini knows many of the vantage points from which the famous shots are taken. Tell him what you want and I'm sure he'll suggest some routes for you.

Or you can make a DYI tour, here's the link I was referring to. tripadvisor.com/…48769677

We had many discussions on this last summer as there were some keen photographers travelling wanting to make the most of being in southern Tuscany. But upon return I remember someone (and I think it was Ziggy) saying you really don't need to over pre-plan or get too worried in advance for everywhere you look there are fabulous scenes just begging to be photographed.
