Is there any way to see The David on a Monday

Does anyone know if there are any ways to gain admittance to see The David on a Monday? Are there private showings or do any hotels have the ability to arrange a tour on a Monday? We are only in Florence for one day, a Monday naturally, and very much want to see The David. Thanks so much for any help.

There are many museums closed on Mondays.

I think you'll just have to do something else.

Now if you were in Venice the museums there would be open as they close on Tuesday.

The Accademia is closed so no David. I recommend you visit the Bargello(open most Mondays but not all) and the Duomo Museum. These two will give you a chance to see some of Donatello's David(2 versions) and also a number of Michaelangelo's. The Orsanmichel Church is also impressive. Have fun...

Thanks very much Tim. I appreciate the guidance. Is the Duomo Museum in the Duomo itself?

The Duomo museum is not in the Duomo itself but behind it, in the same square. If you chance to be on a Monday in which the Bargello is open (it is open on alternate Mondays) I suggest you visit it. You can see two not very good copies of the david, one in Piazza della Signoria and one in piazzale michelangelo, two sites which you'll probably visit anyways.
