Lockers at rail station?

We will be arriving in Florence by train and staying at a hotel near the airport for a flight the next morning. Does anyone know if there are storage facilities or lockers available at the rail station for our luggage so that we could spend the afternoon in the city before going to the airport hotel?

Thanks

No lockers but a manned luggage deposit at SMN train station. the airport is only 4 km from the city. What about changing the hotel to a more central one, check in comfortably so you don't have to go back to the station nor travel to check in and then spend the night in the suburbs?

Anon, of course, is right.

The airport is about 15 minutes' ride from the center of town. You can telephone for a taxi 24 hours per day, and one will be at your door in a couple of minutes.

There are no hotels at the airport or anywhere near within walking distance of it.

The hotels near the airport are not great, and none of them is near enough to make a significant difference in the transit time.

Yes, there is a storage facility in the train station Firenze Santa Maria Novella (left luggage). Check the link bellow.

My suggestion is to choose any hotel in downtown and visit Florence with calm. Ask the reception to provide you a taxi for the next day and in 15-20 minutes you will be in the airport. The cost is 20 euros (fixed) but there are extra charges for the luggage and also for holidays/night races.

Enjoy Florence! annd sleep well! ;-)
