We will be meeting up with family in Florence for 2 weeks from 1 October and want to hoer a car seat for a 2 year old. Any suggestions as I cannot find anythingnon the web?

You can rent these directly from your car rental agency normally. They are always an add-on item and are charged by the day.

A car seat for a 2-year old, if you have one, can be taken with you as hold baggage on the plane - these days, a lot of them are secured using the car's seatbelt and this will probably be the type offered by the rental company.

It's a little sleazy (yes sleazy) that hire companies should charge more for a vehicle that can safely carry your child. Do they charge you more for a vehicle with brakes that work, or seat belts or oil in the engine?

Thanks - unfortunately our car is on a 5 month lease but I will try a few car hire companies for seat only rental.

Can your family ask around and borrow one? Maybe someone whose child has outgrown it?
