Romantic Wineries on the way from Florence to Rome

hello,

me and my boyfriend ( we are in our mid 20s), are going to be in Italy in the beginning of june and are going to drive from Florence to Rome ( yes we are driving...we know that its going to be quit difficult blah blah)

Does anyone know an amazing romantic winery where we can stay overnight as well as have dinner ( with amazing food) and a wine tour anywhere along the route (from florence to rome).

Thank you in advance

PS: we do not what to take any busses/trains/group tours.... the winery has to be en route to rome

Hello we just returned from our Italy, we went on a tour but part of our tour was a stop at an amazing winery/castle which I believe just this summer is startinga bed and breakfast too. Castile de la pannerella I think is the name its between San Gimignano and Cortona. simply beautiful and breathtaking views. Chiara is the host and very knowledgeable and so cute. We had the wine tasting with appetizers followed by a light lunch of pasta, then biscotti and vin santo (which my husband loved and we bought some bottles) their wine is also really good. its a small winery but really good. please check it out it was amazing.

Check out Castello Banfi at http://www.castellobanfi.com/ It's not inexpensive but will fill the bill. Also check out Baron Ricasoli at http://www.ricasoli.it/

Gosh, I'd love a night at both those places, Banfi in particular is somewhere I would love to spend a day or two. Alternatively, and possibly a bit cheaper, up in the Chianti is lovely Vicchiomaggio. http://www.vicchiomaggio.it/. OP, this is a great question, I think you're going to receive a long list of dreamy suggestions by way of reply.

I too have dreamed of a stay at Banfi and a dip in their pool. How ever until we win a lottery we stay in the little village of San Angelo Scalo right across from their vineyards at 1/10 of the price.

The OP asked for an "amazing romantic winery where they can stay overnight and have dinner." They didn't specify price. Amazing and romantic OFTEN costs more!
