Dinner on Christmas Day in Florence 2013

I've found some posts on this topic for earlier years, but it's apparent that every year is a little different. We're going to be in Florence this year over the Christmas week with a large group -- 14 people! -- and are hoping to eat out on Christmas. Is this realistic? We'd like this to be a nice restaurant, not just any place that happens to be open. I may try reaching out to some hotels, but would appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks, Adam

Unless you fancy Chinese or Indian food, you may have to try hotels as many places will be closed and others will probably have an expensive set menu (which may suit you , of course). You could e-mail the Westin Exclesior, the Lungarno, the Bernini Palace and the St. Regis, to see what they have on offer.

We've actually had a tradition, for quite a few years, of having the usual Christmas Dinner fare on Christmas Eve (as lavish and celebrtory as you want, but do get reservations and bear in mind some places close earlier than usua) and then having a lovely Chinese meal on Christmas Day. It's great fun and you meet some very interesting dinner companions.
