Best of Tuscany Tour suggestions

5 of us (2 teenagers) will be in Florence this June. Looking for a low key guide to take us to

Siena, San Gimignano and to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and\or anything in between. Most of the tour groups online seem to include\focus on wine tasting. I'm sure it's wonderful, but since we don't drink alcohol would like to spend out time elsewhere. The smaller the group and the cost the better. Thanks for your suggestions!

There seems to be only one main tour group offering Siena, San Gimigano and Pisa

https:/…best-tuscany-tour

It does include what seems to be the oblgitory wine tasting session , is rather expensive and a very long day. The problem is that Pisa and Siena are in different directions . It might be easier to split your trip into two parts and visit Pisa by train on a different day, it is quite straightforward and could be a half day trip or combined with Lucca for a full day. Siena and San Gimigano are possible by bus or private car hire.

We used Sergio for our day trips with three teenagers. His website offers lots of days trips with and without wine tasting and with and without lunches.

We did one day in the Chianti region and another day for Siena and San Gimignano

He has a nice air conditioned van that takes 7 and is fluent in English, having lived the the UK for some time. The prices on his site are exactly what we paid, no hidden costs and no need to email for quotes. I really liked the transparent nature of his business.

We did Lucca and PIsa by train in one day by ourselves. Very easy, inexpensive and the teens like the train. You buy tickets on the day at the station. Just validate them on the platform before you get on.

We looked at larger group tours but they all included tastings and lunch. Sergio was very happy to modify our day as we went along too, so added time here and there and cut things shorter here and there.

He did drop us at a resto in a little village called Volpaia, the kids loved it and the food was delicious and inexpensive.

Bogwoppit, we have time for one tour. Which tour did your teenagers like better?

"We did one day in the Chianti region and another day for Siena and San Gimignano"

Thanks!

Of those two they enjoyed Siena and San Gimignano the most. Both are stunning towns that they could walk about, lots of history, little shops and were generally stunning. The driver would also stop along the way for photo ops.

Chianti is nice, but they honestly did not love it so much.

The kids really enjoyed biking around the walls of Lucca, lots of rentals right by the station.
