We did not have a car, but stayed in an apartment on Via di San Niccolo, in the San Niccolo area, near the Piazza Poggi, where there was parking spaces available.

I do not know if there is any limitations regarding the period your car may be parked there, or whether any fees are payable. Our apartment was near enough to walk everywhere, and we liked the area.

When you look at apartments, you should check the info regarding parking - if there is no mention of the possibility of parking, you should know that it is completely! out of the question. This area may be an option, if you really had to keep the car. We found the train easy to use to visit Siena etc.

Not an appartment but a lovely small hotel on the outskirts complete with pool and on-site parking. Stayed here 12 years ago and was very impressed

Second the suggestion re getting rid of the car. You cannot drive in the centre of any of the cities in Italy as they pretty much all have ZTL (limited traffic zones).
