Florence to Lucca to Vernazza

We are spending 3 days in Florence and then heading to Vernazza on day 4. On that travel day, we would like to stop in Lucca for 4 hours or so. Any idea on trains to take from Florence to Lucca and then from Lucca to Vernazza? Would love suggestions!

You just need to look at the timetable (www.trenitalia.com), as you don't even mention what day of the week this would be. If a weekday, you could take the 08:10 R train from Firenze SMN to Lucca arr. 09:29 (1h19) then from Lucca, the 13:30 to Vernazza via Viareggio and Monterosso, arr. 15:26 (1h56).

You can buy these tickets on the day of travel, from ticket machines if desired, to avoid lines. Remember that Regional tickets must be validated before boarding.
