Lucca in Rome

Hello I arrive at Pisa airport on Saurday morning of the Easter weekend and leave on Easter Monday at lunch time. Can anyone tell me if the bus or train will be running to get to and from the airport and Lucca as it is a public holiday? Also can anyone recommend a hotel for a 2 night stay? thanks

Pisa-Lucca is a easy by train. Firstly take a look at the trenitalia web site, it has an English link, (www.ferroivedellostato.it).Generally trains work on Monday-Saturday regular timetable and Sundays and holidays the rest. So Saturday is not a problem, easter Monday will be the Sunday timetable. Depending on what time you arrive there is a gap late morning when there is nothing, otherwise its a regular service. The airport train is mostly a 5 minuite run from the airport to pisa central (theres a few Firenze trains during the day as well). At Pisa Central you need to change and its a walk from platform 14 to platform 1 or close by. If you get the timings right its 25mins total. As an alternative there is a bus from the airport to Lucca as well,

(vaibus.com/pdf/…202008-2009_13.pdf) not so easy to find without the link, its page 217 of the extraurbano lines. Dont forget to stamp your ticket for the train before boarding. Cost is eur 2.60, bus similar. A taxi would be best arranged in advance, I use Tau Touring and should be around the Euro 50/60 area, they have people carriers.
