Lucca visit

We will be in Lucca for five days in October. Several questions: The temperature range is 52-70 F. What clothing would you suggest? What about attire for evening meals? Also, we want to visit Cinque Terre from Lucca. Would bus or train be easier? Is there any one of the five towns we should not miss? How about restaurants in any of the five for lunches? Thanks for any help you can give!

Take layers. The temp range can be misleading. Lucca has many narrow streets that do not get much sun and 52 in the sun is a lot different than 52 at night or in the rain. At least pack a sweater for the evenings. Nice casual will get you into all but the most fancy of restaurants.

The train is easier than the bus for getting to the Cinque Terre. It will be a long day trip. Each of the villages have their charms. I like Vernazza the best. Monterosso is also very popular with good restaurants and more shops.

Trains from Lucca to Cinque Terre, enter destination Monterosso. Trains also operate to Pisa, Florence and Siena.
