First off, excuse the awkward wording in the title - there's a maximum number of characters allowed. We are going to Italy for 2-3 weeks next May. At the very top of the kid's list is the Tower of Pisa, which we'll do as a day trip from our base in Lucca. Trouble is, while our daughter will be 10, our son's 8th birthday is not until early July - 6 weeks after our trip. Can we get away with it or is ID needed to prove the age of a child when buying tickets? I appreciate the need for an age limit for the purposes of safety and realize that a line must be drawn somewhere, but wondered whether anyone actually verifies the age of the child or whether it is more of an honesty system (and therefore open to abuse by parents like me...) Thanks!
