Dinner in Pisa

Hi all,

Would like to get some suggestions of a recommended place for dinner in Pisa. Would be doing sightseeing of Leaning Tower and etc from afternoon (doing a day trip from noon onwards)... Any place to suggest for a dinner, budget maybe around 15 euros? May not sound much in Europe but on a pretty long trip, so not much of a choice!

Regards

There is also a great pizza place just across from the Roman Bath Ruins (down the street from Leaning Tower) but I can't remember it's name, unfortunately

Around the Mercado are some not so expensive restaurants which cater more for students and locals than tourists.

Hi there,

Sorry but could you explain what is Mercado? Tried to google map it but seems vague what exactly it is.

Also, approximately how long would it be like to walk from Mercado over to Leaning Tower?

Mercado is the area where the market is held. I can't seem to find it on the map, but it is the area west of Via Notari. In this area there were a lot of students walking around or eating in small restaurants. Some bars also have apertivo which is a very nice custom in Italy (buy a drink in the bar and there are some nibbles on the bar).

Just don't eat in the street leading up to the leaning tower since this is very very touristy, with waiters trying to talk you into their restaurant.

Vineria di Piazza in Piazza delle Vettovaglie should do the trick. Or Bagni di Nerone (the pizza place mentioned above). 15 euros won't buy you much though.
