Day Trips from Pisa

Hi there,

I've got 4 days in Pisa 23rd - 26th August. I'll be doing the usual tourist stuff as well as taking advantage of the restaurant scene in Pisa.

I'm also looking at doing a day trip outside of Pisa, probably on the Monday 25th. Really open to anything - vineyards, tours, culture, outdoors, beach. Neither of us can drive so needs to transport friendly.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Lucca is a wonderful city, lively and beautiful. Rent a bike and ride around the walls. If the weather is hot, a trip to Viareggio is very entertaining even if you don't use the beach. There are shops and a market, a busy harbor and lots of people to watch.

Lucca, Florence and even Cinque Terre are easily accessible by train from Pisa, any one of them would make a great day trip.
