Wineries within walking distance of San Gimignano?

It looks like Sovestro in Poggio is not a far walk from San Gimignano. Are there any others we could comfortably walk to?

We're looking for a place to eat some lunch and do some wine tasting, and are open to recommendations!

Also, what kind of prices can we expect for lunch and tasting? I will email the wineries directly but am trying to set reasonable expectations.

Thanks!

There are wineries that have shops within San G, and you can taste all of their wines there. Of course this doesn't give the winery setting, but some of the tasting cellars are beautiful.

Thank you for the advice, Feelin_Irie.

That's a nice option, but we are leaning toward walking out into the countryside.

Any other experiences anyone can share for wineries to walk to from San Gimignano? Based on TripAdvisor ratings, it may come down to either Sovestro in Poggio or Fattoria San Donato, but it's hard to tell their distance from town.

I noticed your post, did you ever find a winery that is walking distance to San G? Do you have an recommendations on places to eat or wine bars that you visted?

THanks!

Sovestro is closer. Have you looked at their Web site? They say it's 15 minutes on foot from San Gimignano.

I think you have to reserve, particularly if you want lunch.
