Free parking near Hotel Chiuraselli/ Stadium

I'm driving to Siena in a rental car (Avis) on a Saturday and staying for a couple of nights at the Hotel Chiuraselli. The Avis office is closed on Saturday afternoon and Sunday and I have to drop off on Monday morning. The hotel has some limited, first come first served parking but in the likelihood that it is full can anyone suggest the easiest/cheapest way to park the car from Saturday evening to Monday morning?

My first thought would be to ask the hotel where they recommend. You’re paying to stay there, they know the city, they must have been asked the same question numerous times before. I often park for free on Viale Vittorio Veneto but finding a spot is pot luck and I’ve never overnighted there. There are also some free spaces on a couple of streets off this broad avenue – I think it’s Viale Trento / Viale Toti – but you must be very careful as some slots look free but are actually residents only. Check with the hotel, put the onus on them to help you out.
