Avis Foligno

I am hoping to rent for a week from Avis at Foligno station. Has onyone had dealings with this agency and if so your feedback would be most appreciated... Sooo' many bad stories about agencies taking unfair advantage of their patrons.

Thanks in advance.

Avis is a large and reputable rental company. It rents thousands of cars every day without any problem.

The people who rant about rental companies are those who do not understand the conditions of the rental contract, and those who will not admit that they damaged the car.

I live near Foligno and recommend to everyone coming to Umbria to rent from the Avis in Foligno - they are very reliable, and they are also the largest Avis in Umbria. Plus they are conveniently located at the train station.

Thank you Jennifer M... I will make my booking with them I think. I only wish though, that they were open Saturday around 2pm (Close 12 Noon)as that is when the train gets in. We will have to wait until the Monday to get a car.

Last June we picked up our rental car from the Avis office next to Orvieto railway station prior to touring Umbria. This office closes at 12.45pm on a Saturday. Would this work better for you?

If you call them (or write an email) asking them to stay open, they will wait for you - I've done that before - I think the girl who works there lives nearby.

We used Avis through our booking with autoeurope and used the Foligno Avis for our return point. We had picked up the car in Caserta. No problem at all and the return was acccomplished in a matter of minutes....as was the pick up. Autoeurope has been great to work with in making a reservation and any changes that needed to be done along the planning process without any fees.

I would also look at picking up your car somewhere out of Rome but closer to Umbria that you can get to before the places close on Saturday. Talk to someone at Autoeurope for help.

I have made a booking with Avis from Foligno from the Monday morning as we are staying in Assisi for a week and can now spend the first 2 days just soaking up the town before grabbing a train to Foligno to collect the car. It also works well to drop off there the following Saturday and train it up to Florence.

Once again thanks to all... Trip adviser is such a great community.

Does anyone have the email address for Avis at Foligno? It's not on their web page, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else?

I believe you can only contact them by phone or make a reservation through their automated site here (in english) avis.com/car-rental/location/EUR/IT/Foligno
