How: From Assisi to Rome Fiumicino airport (FCO)

We are planning to stay 2 nights in Assisi before we catch the flight at 17:05 in the 3rd day from Rome Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino(FCO) Airport.

Shall we take a train to Rome, or is there a bus line from Assisi to the FCO airport?

Thank you very much for your advices and help.

I don't think there is any bus from Assisi to Rome. If one does exist, it would not go to the airport.

A train will take a bit over 3 hours, requiring a change at either Termini or Tiburtina station in Rome. You can get train times and costs from www.trenitalia.it/homepage_en.html but you have to use a travel date in the next 7 days to get costs on these local trains. It is absolutely pointless trying to book in advance: there are no seat reservations and tickets cannot sell out.

there is a gap between Assisi and station so factor that in......also look at change at Foligno if it is better to get by bus from Assisi to Foligno.

Say you change at the termini it is a very simple operation and clearly marked...... so stress not.

Frequent trains..you will change at Tiburtina station to head on to FCO..go to Agenzia Viaggi Stoppini in Assisi on Corso Mazzini where Fabrizio and Maria Giovanna speak exc. English and can issue your tix- buon viaggio..

There *are* direct buses from Assisi to FCO. They are run by Autolinee Sulga out of Perugia, and the Assisi bus stop is in Santa Maria degli Angeli (as is the train station). The bus is also likely to be considerably cheaper than the train, considering that trains to FCO from Roma Tiburtina cost 8 Euro and from Roma Termini 14 Euro.

Thank you so much for your info and help, my friends.

We will try to find our way in Assisi based on your info... train exchange, Foligno exchange, or bus.

Thank you again.
