Clarity re direct trains Florence to Assisi

This is a big thank you rather than a question: I have been searching various sites for information about direct trains from Florence to Assisi and have nearly gone bonkers not knowing who to believe. Some sites say eight direct trains every day, others say one late in the evening and yet another says no direct trains at all. A response on your site clarified everything: the direct trains during the day are regional and cannot be booked on line, but they are, indeed, nearly hourly. Obviously the sites that say only one, or no direct trains mean that THEY can't book one for you which is most misleading. They shouldn't give the impression that, because they don't deal with them, regional services don't exist. Thank heavens for tripadvisor.

Yes, they leave about every 2 hours from Firenze SM Novella station (most often 9 minutes past the hour)

Information on Italian trains can always be found on www.trenitalia.com and click on the British flag. Use the Italian names for stations.
