We are travelling form Zell am See, Austria heading to Koblenz, Germany and I have noticed a nice looking spot in Rorschach Switzerland that might be a good stop over. In particuliar a hotel named Minotel Weisses Rossli (any feed back?). The location on the lake looks amazing. Also, is it better to take the ferry over to Friedrichshafen and then drive over towards Frankfurt or enjoy the tour around the lake and cross at Konstanz? Thank you in advance.

Lake of Konstanz / Bodensee is not the most spectacular one in Switzerland. However due to its big size, it is quite different. Especially on foggy days you have almost the impression on being on a seashore as you are not able to see any land accross the lake. Unfortunately I don't know Hotel Weisses Rössli, but the location directly on the lake is certainly a good one.

For your continuation to Frankfurt the shortest route is via Konstanz. However if you have some more time and if the weather is good, the ferry ride from Romanshorn to Friedrichshafen is nice - almost like a cruise. You can leave your car and enjoy the view or have a drink on the terrace on the first floor.
