There are two options:

1) You could take the guided chocolate train tour which starts from Montreux, takes you to cheese factory and castle in Gruyres, the chocolate factory in Broc and back to Montreux. It starts at 9:12 in Montreux and ends at 18:00 in Montreux. Bern to Montreux is a 1.5 hours journey. The link for chocolate train info www.goldenpass.ch/CMS/default.asp?ID=414

2) Use www.sbb.ch/en to plan out the journey on your own from Bern to Broc/Gruyeres and back. This could save substantial time. The stop for chocolate factory is Broc-Fabrique and cheese dairy is Gruyeres. You could do Bern-Broc Fabrique-Gruyeres-Bern. Check with the respective factories for operating timings and reservations (if any)

www.callier.ch - chocolate

http://www.lamaisondugruyere.ch/ - cheese

The journey is doable on the same day, though it will be a long day for you.

thank you very much....

may i ask about " other " cheese / choc tours that can be done individually... that perhaps are not as close... we could make a day out of one instead of combining.

better to combine with a cheese factory as just the chocolate factory tour (which is a virtual tour) will not be worth a long trip (in my opinion).

other cheese/choc tours , I do not have much knowledge and you can try to post once again on the forum.
