Geneva - Next week

My husband and I are flying out to Geneva next Thursday evening and return on Saturday evenings, so its for 2 nights.

Is it easy to get around once you are there?

What's it like for bars & resturants? Is it reasonably priced?

Anything that is a 'must-see' that doesn't involve travelling out of Geneva?

Not decided on hotel yet, can you recommend any 3* central ones.

It's really easy to get around as the bus system is really good and you can easily relly on it. Your hotel will give you a free travel card valid on all the bus lines in Geneva.

When you arrive in Geneva airport, in the luggage claim area, before the customs, there is a michine that will give you free bus tickets for 1 hour, wich will get you free of charge, from the airport to central Geneva by train or bus.

You can try the Ibis hotel in central Geneva, which is located near the train station in central Geneva.

You have to go have a walk in the old town of Geneva, go see the cathedrale, where you can climb to the top to have a nice view of Geneva. You have to go see the water fountain on the lake and the flower clock just near it. On the other side of the lake, you have the UN headquarter and the Red Cross museum.

Have fun!

Keep in mind that eating out Switzerland isn't cheap by most standards. A reasonable meal for two at a decent sit-down restaurant can easily cost CHF60.

Use buses and trams to get around. If a tram is available for the same route, it's usually a bit faster than the bus.
