I am planning a trip to Lucern and Interlaken with my husband and two friends at the end of August. We are in our late twenties and want a relaxed holiday with a lot of sightseeing, good food and a lot of fun! I've thought of the following things to do after reading the forums. Kindly advice if this is going to be fine.
Day 1 - We would reach Lucerne in the afternoon sometime. Won't be doing much today except admiring the city!
Day 2 - Boat and cog wheel train ride to Mt. Rigi. In the evening maybe we can see the transport museum or go for a two-hour lake cruise. Will that be possible? I've heard the cruise is very nice.
Day 3 - A trip to Mt. Titlis. Old town in the evening (Lion monument, bridge walk, Musegg walls, etc.)
Day 4 - We will be shifting base to Interlaken today and wont do any day trips.
Day 5 - A trip to Jung frau. On our way back we can walk around Wengen or Lauterbrunnen. How long can the trip to Jungfrau take?
Day 6 - I was reading about St. Beautus caves and Aare gorge. Which one is better? What else can be done on this day?
Day 7 - Was wondering if it would be a good idea to visit Ballenberg and take the lake cruise in Brienz.
Day 8 - We leave from Geneva at 22:00.
Please advice if this is all ok and won't be very hectic. Also, can we fit in the Schynige Platte Botanical Alpine Garden? Is Zermatt possible?
Thanks a lot. I love reading these forums!
