Travel from Wengen - Zermatt-Bonn

We have one day to travel from Wengen - Zermatt. Can anyone please tell us the options. Also we would then like to go from Zermatt to Bonn/Cologne - any clues?

Wengen - Zermatt by train one way - over 3 hours. Mad for a day trip IMO, you'd spend 6 hours just travelling. But you need to decide whether worth it. The area is certainly nice, I love taking the Gornergrat train or going up to Kleinmatterhorn but to do that as a day trip... No way.

Getting to Bonn - see link above or http://www.bahn.de (German rail website) for train options.

Alternatively you can fly from Geneva , Bern or Zurich in Switzerland (looking at how long it takes though to get to e.g. Geneva airport and Zurich airport you could also fly from Milan) according to koeln-bonn-airport.de/en/flights/flight-dest…

To buy a train ticket from Wengen to Zermatt one way , what are our options? Do we buy online or at the station.?We do not need a Swiss rail pass as this is our only journey by train.

It does not matter - whatever is momentarily convenient for you. You don't need to book anything.

And how are you getting to Wengen and from Zermatt to Bonn? I see at least 3 train journeys.
