super easy walks! and trottibikes

Travelling to Wengen in August and wonder if there are any really short (under a mile) - yes I mean short! - walks around the Wengen region. My husband has a bad leg so can only do short walks and although we will be using the transport to see most of the region it would be nice to walk a little if we can.

Also has anyone used the trottibikes with young children, my daughter is 8. Will she be able to handle them, she is used to scooting on an ordinary scooter.

Many thanks.

Dear Travelmum,

Thank you so much for visiting Wengen very soon.

There are short walks around Wengen with amazing views to the Lauterbrunnen-Valley and the high mountains.

We recommend the walks to Hunnenfluh or to Staubbachbänkli. These walks are not steep and easy to walk. There are more walks around Wengen and we will recommend you some when you are in Wengen. Just see us at the Tourist Center.

For Trottibikes: 8 years is still bit young to do the Trottibike. Maybe it's better to buy a little Trotti to go along the main street.

Don't know about the tobaggon run but another couple of ideas for very short walks:

1. Lauterbrunnen Valley: turn left out of train station and walk through the village (very tiny). If you stay on the road (rather than the walking path) there is bus service at many stops along the way. Walk as far as you like then hop on a bus.

2. Take cable car from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp. Walk from there (direction Mürren) as far as Winteregg. Get back on the train at Winteregg. This is just over one mile so may be a bit too much. Fabulous panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. If this is too far, take the train from Grütschalp to Mürren then stroll through Mürren village (less than 1/2 mile) At the other end there is a gondola that takes you up to the Schilthorn or down to Stechelberg (via Gimmelwald) At Stechelberg there is a bus stop right at the gondola station and you can take the bus back to Lauterbrunnen
