Hello,
We're doing a brief stopover in Zermatt on our way between Rome and Paris. We arrive in Zermatt on Friday night, and will have all day Saturday and until noon on Sunday (our train out to Geneva is at 13:00).
We're interested in doing just a couple of touristy things, so here's what I'm thinking. We'd like to get up Saturday morning and take the train up to Gornergrat. Then we're planning to research a creative route to hike down towards Zermatt. Saturday evening we'd do the Matterhorn museum, and other things close to town.
Sunday morning, I'd like to go up to Klein, but if the weather is not favorable, I'm not sure if it's still worth going. We'd be disappointed about the lack of view, but might like to go up anyway.
Doable, or am I crazy to try all that in such a short period? We're all about being early to rise, but I know the lifts don't open as early as we're likely to be up.
This trip is May 20-22. Thanks!
