Designer outlet Roermond

Hello,

We plan to visit the Designer Outlet in Roermond during our trip.

The most convenient day for us will be on Sunday, but I have concern that it'll be to crowded and will take a lot of time.

Am I right?

Can anyone give their general impression whether the place worth the effort of coming there? It's not on our planned route for the journey, but it'll be instead of shopping in other places (at least that's the deal :) )

I have not been there but in general these outlet centers can be crowded on weekends. But not that crowded that it would take more time or so.

Where else will you be going? Maybe we can suggest a more nearby center.

Do you have specific wishes that you need to visit an outlet center? Imo they are overrated. You can get the same prices elsehwere when there are sales.

We'll be going to Brugge, Brussels, Ghent, maybe Antwerp in Belgium and Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, Delft, maybe some other places in Netherlands.

The thing with outlet is that it'll allow to do the shopping in more centralized way in one place and not to spend time in different places looking for shops.

Have you considered Batavia Stad outlet? It's closer to Amsterdam. This is their website: http://www.bataviastad.nl/en It will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there from Amsterdam by public transport.

Sunday is always crazy busy there though, Roermond will probably be too.

If you are coming from Antwerp, you also could visit the Rosada Factory Outlet in Roosendaal (between Antwerp and Rotterdam).

A;ll these outlet centers are very crowded, especially in weekends.

The outlet centers in Roosenaal and Lelystad are indeed more nearby.

But when you are in big cities as Amsterdam and Antwerpen, you really don't have to 'look for' shops. THe big shops are all in the main shopping street areas. So you can send your wife shopping while enjoying a beer yourself.

Roermond is always worth visiting. Winner of the best middel sized city in the Netherlands two years in a row. The Outlet center and the city center are both open each weekend. It is a lovely town with alot more to see than just the Outlet Center 5 minutes walk from the historic center. I advise you to come early as the Designer Outlet does get extremely busy traffic/ and parkingwize at the weekends.

Roermond is home to alot of cultural events. Come and check them out!

I have been to Roermond a few times and other outlets as well.

There is a difference in that Roermond has fewer shops for cheaper clothes and more for (relatively costlier brands) designer wear. For more run of the mill clothing shopping at low prices you could go to Bataviastad or Rosada. For more special occasion stuff go to Roermond.

There will not be such a crowd that you will have to fight to buy things. But going earlier in the morning is better as restocking during the day is not consistent in all shops. Go at the opening time and get parking easily and you can leave earlier in the afternoon than be there till closing time.

For more normal clothing and stuff, it may actually be more interesting to cross over to Dusseldorf and go the malls in the city there. The normal clothing and pretty much everything in Germany is cheaper than Netherlands and you do not need to go to outlet stores.
