how do I get from Amsterdam to Eindhoven Airport

trying to get a cheap flight to London and it looks like the best deal is by going through Eindhoven. How much trouble will this be from Amsterdam?

Any help on getting Amsterdam to the Airport in Eindhoven would be greatly appreciated!

How long of a trip is it, is it worth the trouble, and how much does it cost? also, train times would be really helpful!

thanks!

Hi there,

See www.ns.nl, also English, for train times & cost. About 90 mins for that part. Add 20 mins plus around 1.50 euro (3 strippen) for the bus ride Eindhoven airport to station.

All the best,

Hi

from Amsterdam there's an Expressbus to and from Eindhoven airport.

the Airexpressbus provides a bus (touring car) shuttle service:

Bus stop Amsterdam: Prins Hendrikkade, Holland international Canal Cruises (close to Amsterdam Central train station)

Information and online ticket at: www.airexpressbus.com

(also english version)

London City has it's own "tube" (DLR) station and is only about 20 mins from Liverpool Street, and hence relatively cheap too. Stansted has a train connection to Liverpool St. which takes 45+ mins and costs lots more money.

Heathrow can be a good compromise, as flights to it can be as cheap as Stansted (far below the general London City price level) while it still has an affordable-but-slow tube connection to the centre.

More info in the London forum of course ;-)

hey Eric,

if you had to choose between flying into LCY or Heathrow which would you choose? it's just a little bit more to fly into LCY.

thanks!!

Wow, lucky that the price difference decreased so much!

No doubt LCY. Not only for the shorter transfer to city (also a bit cheaper), but esp. for the extremely much better check-in and luggage pick-up times. At Heathrow you really need to be there 1.5-2 hours ahead due to long walks and crazy queues,

while for LCY 1 hour suffices. Walks at LCY are almost non-existent and queues are much better aligned with the needs of departing flights. Also generally LCY is better in on-time behaviour and not loosing luggage.
