Hi there,

I doubt the daytrip from Brussels to Luxembourg on a sunday, but all depend on what your interests are....

For Amsterdam activities, browse the forum for interesting sights, select the most obvious for your interests and ask the forum for details if necessary.

The timeframe furthermore looks good enough, although I could spend a whole week in Amsterdam and not get bored....but that s personal....

Regards

As the previous reply suggests I too would miss out Luxembourg and replace with perhaps Ghent, Bruge is worth a visit if just for the chocolates and if possible squeeze an extra day in Amsterdam but that is just my opinion.

Not a whole lot going on in Luxemburg on a sunday. You seriously need to give it a miss. Also Luxemburg looks like Milton Keynes most of the time.

Yes, miss out Luxembourg I suggest and also one less day in Brussels and an extra one in either Brugges or Amsterdam or an extra one in each!; Brussels is boring and does not offer the tourist very much (the Manneken Pis is such a disappointment and takes less than 5 minutes before the boredom sets in.) If you stay Saturday to Tuesday in Brussels you will come to see that your time has not been well spent, I suggest!

Hi Stuietoo

I agree 100% I found Brussels really boring but hesitated to comment as there are those who like it, we all have opinions of what is good and what is not so each to their own.

However it would be such a shame to find that at the end of your holiday you had spent so much time in a place you could have covered in a day or two at the most.

Perhaps you should have an open itinerary - see how you feel when you arrive and then book your train tickets on to Bruge etc. as you need them rather than in advance, you can then spend as much or as little time in each place as you see fit.

Well let the TA forum statistics speak for themselves: Belgium has 5,300 posts while the Netherlands forum has 11,400 posts! Geoff has posted more times than the entire Belgium forum!!

If you happen to be a European bureaucratic

statistician, that should have you excited! ;-)

If not, come to Amsterdam! ;-)

I would skip into the old city center of Brussels when you arrive, see the main square (lovely) walk 10 min and get to the Mannekin Pis (ya gotta do it if you're in Brussels), and then get onto a train to Ghent. Stay overnight and 1 day in Ghent (LOVELY CITY!!) Next day, train to Bruges.....again, lovely, but one day is enough. Then, spend the rest of your time in Amsterdam!!

Skip Brussels. Ghent or Antwerp is way more fun. Brugges and Amsterdam are awesome.
