What is the cheapest way to get there from Amsterdam? We are 2 adults travelling with 2 children under12.

Hi Sharon,

The entrance & train combi journey for the adults (see Floriade website, it's a complex process with partly a Dutch screen but google translate is there when needed) and single entrance tickets plus railrunner train tix for the kids.

All the best,

You should read the other topics about the Floriade here on TA.

Most people are rather negative.

Yes but the express bus experiences are generally more dismal than those with Floriade itself. Follow the discussion here...

Visited Floriade in April 2012. A huge disappointment! Long walks between "Themed Worlds".... mediocre, at best, sights. A mix between Kukenhof and Disneyworld wannabes. Staff pleasant but poorly trained to handled visitors' questions. We scheduled a Tues. visit specifically to see the Floriade Show.....we waited for 45 min. for show only to be told by a groundsman walking on the stage that the show would not perform today (and no explanation why). Expensive, and not worth a ticket from Amsterdam imho.

The combined ticket seems really good value for money (link below). Have used google translate to read all the info but still nervous to order in case something goes wrong. It seems that it is a print out e-ticket is that right? The page does not mention the starting train station, we'll be going from Amsterdam Centraal. Are there any limitations in times of use (UK tickets usually do)? Has anyone used this already? Thanks.

Yes it's a printout. And a day return from any Dutch station to Venlo, without time limits. Using the normal routes, NS and Veolia (hence not a few regional lines in other corners of the country).

This is a copy of how we bought this ticket. It was good value and worked fine and was handy not having to buy anything. Just hop on train, bus, entrance and cable car.

I assume it`s still the same as when we bought it.

<I have just bought the combo Floriade+kabelbaan+train. I did it on the dutch site as the English site this is not available. Cost is 45 euros per adult.

This is a 2-stage project: first book the combo ticket, then get the train ticket.

On the dutch site order the ticket you want and pay with a credit card -our Australian credit worked ok. You may get an sms from the bank to verify the purchase - we did.

Then you click " Uw E-ticket krijgt u door op deze link te klikken".

This brings up the pdf for the Floriade ticket only. Print this and the first page is the Ticket and the 2nd page has a link to the Dutch railways with a code.

Double click the link and this goes to the railways site where the Couponcode should already be shown.

Then order the train ticket with your initials in the top box and surname below followed by date of birth.

Also the date of your visit is required. Also note that the train ticket is not valid on the railway companies called Arriva,Connexion and Syntus.

Continue on (verder) (ignore the 48 euro cost) and then the ticket details are shown with the cost annulled..Click on the shoppingbasket (winkelwagen) and your train ticket is activated.

If you ordered tickets for 2 people, this has to be done twice and the different link and coupon code is in the original pdf from Floriade.

You will get an email with the train ticket in pdf in your email.

However on the left of the page the ticket is generated as well and you can click the link to bring up the pdf and print it.

The train ticket is also to be used for the Shuttle Bus.>

Thanks Erik and Hugo. Just looked at the Dutch version of the Floriade website and seen that you can buy entry, cable car and train ticket. The one thing I'm querying is that the train company site is offering entry & train for €35, Floriade is offering entry, cable car & train for €45. The difference between with or without cable car on the Floriade site is €5. Does anyone know if you can buy cable car upgrade on the day? Thanks.

Yes you can, separate tickets costing something like 5 or 6 euro.
