First, thank you to all the destination experts and everyone else who contributes to this forum. I planned our stay almost entirely from info from the forum and reviews. We arrived at Schipol last Thursday at noon. We had planned to take the train and then walk to our hotel, but we were pretty beat from 4 days in Prague and had a 40 pound suitcase so nixed that plan on the flight! In the KLM flight magazine, we saw an ad for Connexxion Shuttle so decided to try that. It worked out great..of course, way more expensive (16 Euro each) than the train but very easy and convenient so I guess worth it to us. We stayed at the Hotel Estherea which we just loved. It's in a beautiful location, on the Singel Canal, and was just a top notch hotel in every way. We spent that afternoon strolling around the canals and enjoying the scenery. It was even prettier than I imagined it would be, which is always a nice surprise. That night we had drinks and dinner outside overlooking the Prinsengracht, at Wester, which I had read about on a thread here. It was heavenly..a great way to end the day. More to follow..
