Please recommend us a 2.5-day itinerary

We're arriving on October 16 @ 12:10PM and leaving October 18 right after dinner - staying at the Moevenpick hotel. We have 4 guys on the trip and we're pretty much open to anything and everything but we capped our museum visits to only 3 max. All of us LOVE to bike, eat, drink, party and we'd all like to try brownies at some point.

Can someone please recommend us a nice, comfortable 2.5 day itinerary?

hi lektrix. You may notice you're not getting a lot of replies here to your very open ended question. You'll get the most help, and as you know people here are very generous with their knowledge and experience, after you do some initial research on your own and then come back with some specific questions if you have any. You may want to begin by checking out the link "What can I see and do in Amsterdam?" in the right hand column.

Yep, that gives you a good standard visit. I encourage you to use it as a rough guide combined with some of your own exploring.

Are there things we can take out? I doubt we will see 8-10 places a day. We only have 2.5 days

A little bit of everything. We're generalists. We're first timers so we're not that picky. , What are the must-see things? We already have Anne Frank, Van Gogh, and National museums down. But no more than that.

The Van Gogh museum is closed till next year though they are showing a small part of the collection at the Hermitage in Amsterdam. You could possibly see the impressionist collection by the Hermitage during your visit. If you have booked a slot Ann Frank house will take you about 90 minutes or so. The Hermitage will take you about 2 hours or more. Since you have a short stay decide on either the Hermitage plus bits of Van Gogh or the Rijks museum which is also undergoing renovation.

ponte.... that is priceless info. I would have just gone straight to the museums without any knowledge of their renovations, limited viewings. Now it throws a bone into the equation and gives us even more free time. And we just might have to go to the purses museum with 4 guys, haha!
