Sorry if my previous post offended, I'd be about the least offensive person you could meet. I look forward to experiencing your country.

Hey - have fun. If you like biking out in the countryside you are absolutely going to love it!

If you have any questions about where to go, feel free to ask. People on here really aren't that brutal.

This is my first trip to Europe. I'd actually love some suggestions. I am at a conference April 23 to April 26th, but decided to stay on for the Queens Birthday. I had thought of riding 27th and 28th, and then just spending the 29th and 30th in Amsterdam.

After that I will make my way to Italy and ride 7 days in Tuscany, then maybe do something before returning home, haven't really decided where to finish as yet.

My family is planning a trip to Amsterdam in late June and also was looking into doing some longer rides. I am a triathlete used to riding fast for long distances. However we decided to ride like the Dutch ride, to experience a little different culture. Our plan is to take our time and stop and smell the roses, I mean tulips! I have also been warned that the wind can be pretty brutal and to be willing to cut the amount of biking or choose a different route to account for the wind.

We are probably planning on doing rides around Broek in Waterland/Marken for scenery and Muiden/Weesp/Naarden for the castle and the star fort. MacBike has maps for these rides and everyone says the signs to each of these places are easy to follow.

Thanks, I'll have a look at those trips. I get the idea of using the local bike, but I have only been riding for 2 years after 26 years of chronic arthritis stopped me from do anything too much, including travel. The cure is great, but I err on the side of caution when it comes to equipment.

It looks like a beautiful country, and ambling along at 25kmh the senses are taking it in.
