Banks Mansion or Hotel Estherea?

Hi all!

We're headed to Amsterdam in early July - 3 people in our late 40's and one 17 year old.

We're between Banks Mansion and Hotel Estherea.

I've Google mapped both and walked around but I am still not sure.

What is the area like near the Banks Mansion? Is it party central? I imagine the Hotel Estherea area is quieter?

Thanks for your thoughts, all thoughts are welcome!

Both locations are wonderful, I'd almost call them the same. Neither is party central. The Estherea is on a quieter street.

A lot of the boutique hotels do not have rooms for 3, if that was your plan. So book early.

No, there are 4 of us, so we are getting two rooms.

Some prefer the Banks Manasion due to the "free" alcohol.

Not much between the two. The Estherea is smaller, quieter and imho just a tad classier. Banks has more facilities and of course the free minibar.

My vote would go to the Estherea but be aware that some of the rooms are quite small. If that is an issue either pay for an upgrade or go with Banks.

The alcohol is not an attraction for us at the Banks. I like the idea of the breakfast being included, and the mini bar and snacks for water/soft drinks. My sister seems to really want the Banks. It is a difference of ~$45 US per night per room.

Does anyone have any suggestions for other hotels? I am totally open to suggestions. Budget is no more than ~$250 US per night. We need an elevator for my sister.

I take it you had already narrowed down the list by looking at the hotel reviews? If so, I'm not sure there is much we can add to what's on there. You have already selected two of the best options in that range.

I see that V hotels are opening a new place on the Nesplein. This is a small chain of boutique hotels in amsterdam so you might want to check it out. I see on booking.com they havea suite available at an introductory price.

Also check out the Toren, Canal House and Notting Hill hotel. Maybe also the Conservatiorium if it comes to your price range.

The Hotel V looks fabulous!

The Toren is sold out for my dates.

I will also check the Canal House and Notting Hill hotel as well as the Conservatiorium.

I thank you for those suggestions!
