I am traveling from Dubai to UK and am considering a stop off in Amsterdam for a weekend break. I am a British citizen and of course have no visa problem in EEC countries. However I wish to take my wife who is from Kyrgyzstan (she has a valid UK visa), who is traveling to meet up with me in Dubai. Upon enquiring about a transit visa on the Netherlands official site, we have been directed to apply via their Embassy visa section in Moscow (as they have no embassy in Kyrgyzstan and don't cater for online applications). This is of course very impractical and not very cost effective given the huge distance between Kyrgyzstan and Moscow.
I wish to know if there is any other way of getting a transit visa for my wife to allow her to see Amsterdam for 2 or 3 days by circumnavigating this frustrating situation, which is by the way, a common fault when seeking visas for many countries that have no representation in Bishkek.
