Waterland trip from Amsterdam

We are a party of 8, visiting Amsterdam for 4 days from 30 May 2014. We are in our early sixties and are reasonably fit. We like the countryside and good food.

We intend to use the Waterland Day Ticket which gives unlimited travel on R-Net(Connexion). Our one day itinerary includes Broek, Marken, Volendam, Edam, Monnickendam, and Hoorn. Are we being too ambitious in visiting so many places in one day. If so, what are the place we can KIV for another time.

We were a little confused when we checked the website for the buses. Where is the terminal in Amsterdam and what bus can we take and how to buy the tickets? Which place should we stop first and so on?

Would appreciate any other advice that would make our free and easy tour more enjoyable.

Thank you in advance

Hi there,

Ticket to be bought from the driver -- EBS, not Connexxion. The buses still have a temporary bus stop area at Central as the new terminal on riverside has a last phase of build-up; I think the stops are on east side, near the rail tracks opposite Barbizon hotel. Upto you to time the trips with www.9292.nl/en, it could indeed be packed a bit too far.

All the best,

Just start with Volendam/Edam and then go to Marken. Check your time to see if you want to continue on or go back.
