Amsterdam

Me and my friend are in Amsterdam for 5 nights in august, does anyone know any good places to go that can be done on a student budget? What are the best places to go and cheapest places to eat?

Cheapest places to eat can be found on Zeedijk, and Vapiano serves cheap Italian food. Or just buy some food in an Albert Heijn and go for a picknick just like the locals in the parks.

Almost forgot about Hema which is a local variety store you will find all over town. They have snack bars with incredible worst (hot dogs) and the absolute best values for breakfast.

Yes, HEMA still offers the €1 breakfast until 10am. The one in Kalvertoren and the one on Nieuwendijk. http://www.hema.nl/nieuws/ontbijt.aspx

IKEA also offers cheap breakfasts with free coffee / tea refills but is a bit out of the way. I accidentally stumbled upon the breakfast hour there once, crazy busy! :-)
