Amsterdam by Bus

Hi,

Please help me, we plan to visit Brussels for just one day , then leave for Amsterdam on the same day ( at night) and be there for the next 2 days

1. Which one is cheaper , by bus or by train?how much?

2.If by bus at night, is it safe to arrive in Amsterdam at night 11 Pm to Midnight?

3. For Eurolines bus, does it bring us too to Amsterdam Central Station?

4. Are taxis expensive to take from the dropoff point fof Eurolines Amsterdam station to Amsterdam central station ( hotels) ?

5. Is it best to take hotels close to Amsterdam central instead ? we plan to move out at night from amsterdam around 9 pm , i was thinking we will take the train from central to airport ( amsterdam airport)

Thanks a lot !!! :)

Amsterdam is safe at 11 PM at night. Just exercise the usual caution in regards to pickpockets, etc.

Hi there,

1] Compare Eurolines with www.b-rail.be prices. All depends on how long in advance you book.

2] See above

3] Amstel station

4] Well around 15-20 euro. Public transport easy, 2.80 euro/person.

5] Not strongly needed, good trams and buses to train stations from anywhere in city centre.

All the best,

You can take a classic InterCity train every hour, takes 3h30, fixed price €39, either buy on the day at the station or at www.b-europe.com and print your ticket.

Or take a high-speed 186mph Thalys train in only 2h, but this has airline style pricing vatying from €25 to €80 or so depending how far ahead you book - also bookable at www.b-europe.com or www.Thalys.com

Yes as far as our info goes it's around 5 mins transfer time in Rotterdam on IC Direct to Amsterdam. Which travels 3 x per hour hence if you miss it simply take next one.

No problem, Amsterdam is safe to travel 24h in all normal tourist areas.

All the best,

If you don't make the change in Rotterdam then just take the next train.

Yes it is perfectly safe to arrive late at night

Last trams are around 0015. The Prinsengracht is about 4km long so which hotel is it? And I would take a taxi.
