Using Hop on, Hop Off canal boat instead of tram

Having somewhat constrained walking, it appears the Hop On, Hop Off canal boat stops at major sights, or close-by. Is this a more feasible way of getting around than the tram, and easier? Looks much easier. Yes, I've read the forum, but I didn't see any comments in this regard. Thanks.

Purely for getting around no trams are much better. You can wait up to 30 minutes for a canal HOHO boat but if you want to see Amsterdam from the water and get around then it is an option.

We did the canal hoho to get acclimatized to the area but for convenience getting close to sights such as Vangogh, Rik etc - the tram was much quicker and dropped you closer!

Use the trams. They are more convenient, by far.

By far the most convenient is biking around. Don't know whether your restrictions go for walking only, or biking too. When I have a splayed anckle or knee problems, walking is a hassle but biking is still fine.

A bike gets you from doorstep to doorstep without having to walk to/from tram stops, and without having to wait until it finally arrives. Or keep an eye on the time for the last tram at night.

The city is flat and has loads of bike lanes seperated from the roads for cars. Even special bike traffic lights.

That said, biking can be a bit challenging for people who never bike. But just another option you may want to consider... if you do go biking, mind the tram tracks, don't get your wheel stuck.
