Holland Trip

Driving to the Keukenhof gardens this weekend. Was also planning to visit den haag and madurodam, maybe a visit to the beach and delft pottery.

Was wondering whether to do a windmill tour? If yes which one would you recommend, hopefully something closeby.

Any other suggestions or things to do in this area?

Can certainly recomend Madurodam & we love the seaside town of Scheveningen but it can get very busy at weekends, particularly if the weather is nice parking could be a problem if your not there nice & early, enjoy!

Probably the closest windmill tour would be at Sans Schans, but there is a windmill at Keukenhof.

Leave the beach until last, as there is no open/closing times. Keukenhof will take you most of the day.

Madurodam at least 2 hours.

Delft Pottery, maybe 1/2 hour.

The Hague , well, a week?! but depends what you are interested in seeing. - Maurits house, Escher, Peace Palace, Panorama, etc, there is so much.

Sans Schans - Dawdle 3 hours;, a quicky - 1/2 hour.

Then there is the driving in between, and the traffic.

You can visit 'Molen De Valk', a nice windmill in the centre of Leiden.

Leiden is a 15min train ride from The Hague and Schiphol Airport. Exit the train station on the centre side, walk a few steps south and then you'll immediately see the windmill at your left hand. (5min walking distance from the station). Other sights are worth visiting as well, such as the fortress (De Burcht), Town Hall (Stadhuis), the lovely canals etc etc.
