Mons to Paris via train question

Anyone know if there is a train station in MONs which will take you to Paris? Which train line? It seems there are several types of trains

it looks to me that you have to go via brussels.

although i have just looked for today and seen one that is direct on thalys and seems to take just one hour 19 minutes.

Actually, there is a thalys train that leaves Mons and goes to Paris Nord directly. It leaves at 8:30am and the return train leaves around 5 pm I think. www.thalys.com can show you the train times. That would be the most direct route.

A cheap alternative would be the Eurolines bus. They offer Bru-Paris return trips for less than 30 euros and the bus stops at mons train station. The bus is somewhat slower than the Thalys though.
