Train/bus ticket in Belgium

Hi,

Can anyone suggest train/bus ticket in Belgium?

Is train ticket cost in Belgium same price when buy from machine and officer?

Is there any cheaper train ticket for a group(3 persons) available?

Can bus ticket buy from bus driver or need to buy from officer?

Do we need to take a bus travel in Brussels city for one-day trip or need to take bus?

I will stay at ibis Styles Brussels Louise hotel please advise how to reach the hotel from Gare Du Midi train station and which bus/train to city centre from the hotel.

Please kindly advise.

Thanks and Regards,

Usually. There is a cheap ticket for young people under 26 years old called "Go Pass 1". This can only be bought online. Other tickets cost the same wherever you buy them. However, if you get on a train without a ticket, when you could have bought one in advance, you pay a higher price for the ticket you have to buy from the ticket inspector on the train.

There is a ticket called "Rail Pass" which can be shared by more than one person. It costs €76 and can be used for 10 journeys between any two stations. For example, 3 people could use it for three one-way trips each (3 x 3 = 9).

You can buy bus tickets from the bus driver, but they are normally cheaper if you buy them in advance at a ticket office or from a machine.

The central area of Brussels is quite small, and you can see most of the "tourist sites" on foot. If you want to travel out of the centre, there is a metro (subway) and trams (streetcars) and buses.

Take metro (subway) line 2 or 6 from Gare du Midi to Louise station (3 stops: Direction Simonis (Elisabeth)).

At Louise, take tram (streetcar) 94 to stop "Bailli" (3 stops: Direction Musée du Tram)

Hotel website shows where the hotel is in relation to the tram stop

< which bus/train to city centre from the hotel >

Take tram 94 from stop "Bailli" in the opposite direction (Direction Stade) to stops "Palais" or "Parc"
