Easter in Belgium

We will be likely in Belgium over the Easter period this year and I am wondering what will be open/closed on the holidays? Museums and major attractions or will restaurants/shops be closed? If so, only on Good Friday or other days as well?

TIA

Good Friday isn't a public holiday here, only Easter Monday - and most museums are closed on Mondays anyway, so no change there (in fact, some that would usually close will be open). Access to certain churches may also be affected by Easter services.

Otherwise, as a public holiday, Monday is like a Sunday, i.e. shops will be closed on both days, and some restaurants - but there is always something open, especially in tourist hotspots like Brugge, where canal boats will also be running.

It is impossible to advise what will be open for the whole of Belgium, so I suggest you check specific museums/ monuments that you are interested in in specific cities directly with their own websites, which you can easily find by googling. However in Brussels, for example, the Atomium is open every day of the year, and in any case the principal sights here are outside/open access e.g. Grand' Place, Mannekin Pis, Galeries St. Hubert.
