set menus

Do many places have set 3 course menus and is there an area where we are more likely to find these? we are staying for 5 days and have found in the past in other countries these can be value for money and simple but nice food.

1) No, apart from e.g. Chinese and some other ethnic places. Lunchtime places aimed at office workers often have a DISH of the day; and brasseries may have a set menu of the week, but otherwise this sounds like tourist trap territory to me.

2) The tourist trap area, if you want to risk being over-charged/ cheated, is the "Ilôt Sacré" near the Grand' Place, consisting of rue des Bouchers, petite rue des Bouchers and rue Grétry (although there are a few reputable places there, like Chez Léon and Steak Frit'); you'll be OK in the Galeries St. Hubert, e.g. Arcadi.
