Anyone know of any good late night bars (open till 3-4am) getting into Brussels around midnight and wouldnt mind having a few beers.
What day of the week? In general the late-night area is around Place St. Géry (the area opposite the Bourse) and St. Jacques (the area South of the Bourse, i.e. on and off rue du Midi, heading towards Gare du Midi) but more so on Fri and Sat nights than on other nights. Even the McDonalds in this area, opposite the Bourse building, stays open till 5 a.m. on Thurs, Fri and Sat nights.
Le Corbeau in nearby rue du Marché aux Poulets is open late most nights, but again, later at weekends.
Gah, I forgot to write that it would be on a tuesday....Im guessing not much open on this unpopular night of the week
Sorry I was confusing Le Corbeau (which is open until 1 a.m. Mon-Thur, otherwise "till dawn") with Celtica!
Le Corbeau (http://www.lecorbeau.be/) is at 18 rue St. Michel, running between Bd. A. Max and rue Neuve, about halfway between Place De Brouckère and Place Rogier.
However Celtica, which is the one at 55 rue Marché aux Poulets (1 block from the Bourse and only about 3 from the Grand' Place), says it closes at 5 a.m. on Tuesday nights: http://www.celticpubs.com/celtica/celticabxl.html - so I was remembering the right late-night-opening bar, but not the right name!
You would probably enjoy Delirium but its website is down so can't check its hours - it probably closes at midnight on a Tuesday, but you could always go there first: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g188644-d570757-Reviews-Delirium-Brussels.html It is located in a little alleyway just off rue des Bouchers at the point where this meets rue Grétry.
Ah Celtica, you can always rely on the Irish bars! I think I will give Delirium a look first and use Celtica as plan B, late night Irish bars are not a good way to ensure making your mid morning meetings in my experience....but then again....
Many thanks for the help
