Recommendation for Restaurants

I am staying at the Leopold Hotel Rue Du Luxembourg in November for 3 nights. Has anybody got any recommendations for eating close by. Also wanted to make a trip out by train Brugge or Ghent?

1) Poivre et sel on the corner of rue Marie de Bourgogne (street next to your hotel) at rue de Parnasse 2 http://www.poivre-et-sel.be/ - also Il Pasticcio in the same street but it is only open certain evenings.

2) They are on the same railway line: from Luxembourg area, you'll need to take 38 bus to Gare centrale or walk up to Trône and take metro to Gare du Midi or else start at Gare du Luxembourg, changing at Nord, Central or Midi.

The two restaurants suggested will very likely be closed if you come at the weekend. The Brasserie Leopold, attached to the hotel is in fact better (imo) than either and is better priced - no ping cheffery there (microwaves). See the website for menu and prices. There will be a new Autumn suggestions menu and new wine list in a few weeks (they told me yesterday)

Both Ghent -about 25 minutes-and Bruges - about 45- are an easy train ride from Brussels, and certainly worth a visit, if only for a day each!
